A comprehensive overview of software product management challenges

Abstract The principal focus of software product management is to ensure the economic success product, which means prolong life as much possible with modest expenditures maximizs profits. Software managers play an important role in development organization while being responsible for strategy, business case, roadmap, high-level requirements, deployment (release-management), and retirement plan. This article explores problems that affect process, their perceived frequency severity. data were collected by a systematic literature review (5 main databases analyzed), interviews (10 from IT companies), surveys (89 participants). 95 assigned nonexclusively 7 areas identified. 27 commonly mentioned evaluated most frequent are: determining true value customer needs, strategy priorities change frequently, technical debt, working silos, balancing between reactive proactive work. In total, have been identified narrowed down based on occurrence at least 3 interviews. These selected prioritized Some spanned beyond process itself, but they all work managers.
